Adrian Farrel has been at the forefront of technology innovation in the Internet Engineering Task Force for almost 30 years and has co-authored about 100 RFCs specifying Internet technology. He has co-chaired eight different working groups across different technology areas, and Adrian held the position of IETF Routing Area Director for a six-year period.

Previously, Adrian was a regular attender at ITU-T Study Group 15, and acted as the IETF’s liaison to the ITU-T on optical networking. He has participated in the Broadband Forum as well as multiple EC-funded research projects. He often speaks at conferences on innovations in networking.
