Silvia Almagia is the Director of Software and Standards at ETSI, where she leads a team of technical experts driving collaborative software and open-source initiatives in support of global standardization.

Previously, Silvia was a Technical Expert at the ETSI Centre for Testing and Interoperability, where she managed the NFV Interoperability Programmes and spearheaded the development of Proof-of-Concept Frameworks in fields such as Network Virtualization, Edge Computing and Zero Touch Service Automation.

Before joining ETSI, Silvia held technical leadership roles in several telecommunications software companies, leading the design and development of carrier-grade solutions for Mobile Services, Operations Support Systems (OSS), and Network Management Platforms – building a strong foundation in both telecom and software engineering.
