Maimouna Gueye is a seasoned Telecommunications Engineer with over a decade of leadership experience in broadband infrastructure, fiber network deployment, and strategic management across Europe and Africa. She started her career at SFR France and later joined Infractive France, where she held various senior roles, including General Manager and Commercial Director. During her tenure at Infractive France, she led the company through a phase of accelerated growth, expanding its operations internationally and successfully deploying large-scale fibre projects, notably in Côte d’Ivoire and other African countries. Her expertise encompasses fiber optics and WDM network architecture. In 2023, she established ALM TELECOMS, a company dedicated to accelerating Africa’s digital transformation through sovereign infrastructure and local capacity building. Under her leadership, ALM TELECOMS has become a key player in West Africa, notably launching FIBERSTORE in Dakar, Senegal, the first fibre-dedicated showroom in the region. This initiative provides technicians and network operators with access to certified equipment, technical training, and hands-on demonstrations to support smarter and more resilient fibre deployments. 2 Given the importance of fostering cross-continental expertise, Maimouna has also established ALM TELECOMS FRANCE, with a strong focus on DWDM solutions, optical transport, and advanced broadband technologies. Her goal is to bridge innovation between Europe and Africa, while promoting sovereignty and local innovation in digital infrastructure. Maimouna’s current focus is on bridging Africa’s digital divide through broadband infrastructure sovereignty, local industrialisation, and digital skills development. This makes her a strong advocate for inclusive and resilient connectivity. Maimouna is fluent in French and English, and has academic proficiency in Turkish. She is a passionate speaker and strategist, with expertise in themes such as broadband for economic empowerment, women in tech, and Africa’s role in shaping next-generation networks.
