José Antonio is responsible for Packet Core within Telefónica's CTIO, with a strong focus on the evolution of 5G Core.

He plays a key role in defining the group’s data core strategy, closely aligned with industry standards and the technological roadmaps of leading vendors.

Aligned with this strategic vision, José Antonio is actively involved in supplier selection processes for critical 5G technologies.

In his role, he participates also in different transversal projects including private networks, end-to-end slicing, network capability exposure through Open Gateway, and new XR use cases.

He is also a key contributor to Telefónica’s ongoing research in 6G, helping shape the future direction of next-generation mobile networks.
