Assen has over twenty years of experience working in the Telecom industry. His career started in the 3G era working on radio network controller design, following which he actively participated for over five years in the radio interface design for LTE as a standards representative of a tier 1 mobile operator in 3GPP, as well as contributing to industry consortia like Wi-Fi Alliance and GSMA. From 2014 onwards, he spent several years working as a solution architect developing unified communications products integrating fixed and mobile communications before spending about five years as a lead product architect developing private network products. Since joining Liberty Global (LG) in 2023, Assen’s focus has been on developing strategies for monetization of 5G and 5G advanced by LG OpCos, with specific emphasis on accelerating the private networks opportunity and upcoming 5G Redcap opportunity, as well as a longer term focus on monetization opportunities with 5G Advanced features.
