What is TADHack and why does it matter for Network X attendees?

TADHack is the largest and longest running series of global hackathons focused on programmable communications / telecoms since 2014.  The TAD in TADHack stands for Telecom Application Development. For TADHack Global 2022 we’ll be the pre-event hackathon for Network X on the 15-16 October, Saturday and Sunday.

At TADHack people (students, web developers, IT managers, coders and non-coders, graphic designers, project and product managers, interested individuals, subject-matter-experts, and Network X Attendees) collaborate on a software project using programmable telecoms.

Communications is fundamental to the human condition. Now it is programmable, we are only beginning to scratch the surface of what is possible to improve people’s lives. Programmable Telecoms / Communications is a $1200B+ industry.

Our hacks have included programmable communications (voice, video, messaging), Web3 / Ethereum, internet of things, cloud computing, robotics, machine learning, speech and face recognition, mobile payments, enterprise communications, decentralized web, blockchain, encryption, open source, data analytics, and many other technologies.

Check out this fun 2 minute video to see the impact of TADHack between 2014 and 2020. Some hacks go on to be businesses and deployed services, some kick off successful partnerships, and some are used by sponsors to demonstrate the power of their platform - Symbl.ai are the perfect example of this!

If you’re traveling to Network X come join us on the weekend at TADHack Global Amsterdam, you’ll have a great time, meet interesting people, learn lots, and perhaps like Justin Haefner, an Enterprise Connect attendee who also took part in TADHack, be a winner.

You do not need to be a coder, you can help on ideation, defining the minimal viable hack, presentation preparation, and taking part in the pitch. Coding is only half the work, the pitch is as important. Over the years we’ve learned diverse teams win, so join us and help diversity.

You’ll meet many developers, innovators and technologists. You’ll make new friends. You’ll see first-hand the importance of making resources (APIs, SDKs, documentation, etc.) as simple as possible. Programmable communications / telecoms is a small piece of a project, developers need to understand what you have in minutes and be able to get something working in less than one hour.

Hacking is fun, this will be an experience you remember for the rest of your life. If you bring the learning from TADHack / Network X back to work, you could change the future of your business.
