Ayan Ghosh has almost 20 years  of experience in the telecoms industry having provided consultancy services to vendors like Motorola & Nokia, operator-EE/BT, system integrator CDS/RedM & the UK regulator Ofcom. Currently, Ayan is in a technical advisory role in the DCMS Ministry leading OpenRAN and  private 5G initiatives under the diversification programme, along with providing telecoms expertise in a Quantum Encryption startup- Arqit.   In the past, Ayan has designed networks in landmark buildings including Ascot racecourse, Wembley stadium, Heathrow airport, a host of public buildings across the UK, using a variety of technologies for multiple operators. He rolled out wireless networks across Cumbria in the early days of WiFi and WiMAX to connect the unconnected.   Known in the industry as EE’s “Droneman”, he invented Airmast - a  private network solution for disaster recovery using drones and Helikites for which he won the SCF and MEC international awards. Ayan co-authored an IEEE 5G paper on in-cabin private network along with Airbus and Ericsson for the airline industry. He was instrumental in rolling out the first 4G network in the UK & 3G Femtocells for EE.   Ayan holds a Masters Degree in Computing Science from UMIST and a Bachelor's Degree in IT. In his spare time he plays cricket for his local village club where he is an U11 ECB level 1 coach, a Governor in a local primary school and rides his motorcycle in the Cotswold.
