France becomes the leading country for fibre despite a slowdown in network investment triggered by the cost-of-living crisis

In line with France’s latest progress with its fibre deployment, Omdia estimates fibre to reach nearly  90% of the total technology mix at the end of 2028. Importantly, the cost-of-living crisis will not have a major impact on France’s copper switch-off progress, as accelerated fibre rollout will remain a  political priority, and we will see increased public investment in fibre rollout in the outlook period.
